Sometimes I feel as if the words have been
Dragged out of me, that they have pulled my hair
And boxed my ears and left me to scrape my face
On the pavement while they tower over
And count them one by one by one by one.
Words all count for one by one by one;
An ‘a’ for ‘oversimplification’
Another word, another space, and one
By one by one and sometimes a river
Of words and ink and inspirations swells
And drowns me in its murky current of
Words and ink and inspiration. And then,
When the words have battered my heart and mind,
They leave me to rest a while, broken, healed.
Beautiful!!
